To say Chris Weir is a fan of Batman would be a gross understatement. Chris Weir may actually be Batman’s number one fan, an honour he proved he deserved when he built his very own Bat Cave replica in the basement of his house!
Chris developed his love for the Dark Knight when he was just three years old when he and his uncle would play Batman and Robin together. He bought action figures and toys and when he was older, he began subscribing to Batman comics using his pocket money. However, unlike most kids, he never grew out of his love for the caped crusader and continues to purchase Batman memorabilia to add to his growing collection.
When he and his wife started looking to buy their own house, Chris decided it was time to take his passion to the next level and build himself his very own Bat Cave. His wife was supportive of his venture, saying that he could do whatever he wanted as long as he paid the mortgage!
So, in two years’ time, Chris built himself a replica of the Bat Cave in his basement, complete with a bust of Shakespeare with a hidden button that leads to a secret entrance just like in the original BATMAN series from the ’60s which starred Adam West!
In the actual Bat Cave, Chris has installed a home theatre complete with a 120-inch cinescope screen and comfortable seats. The Cave is also where he stores his most prized piece of Batman memorabilia: a life-size Batman costume from THE DARK KNIGHT and THE DARK KNIGHT RISES!
