Just because actors have amazing careers and tons of money doesn’t mean they shouldn’t get their education. Many, such as Natalie Portman, have even gone as far as getting university degrees. Actor Mark Wahlberg has decided that he wants to get his high school diploma.
He dropped out of school in the ninth grade with only a couple credits earned and has since regretted not completing high school. Don’t expect to see him carrying a backpack to class and eating greasy french-fries in the cafeteria, though. Mark will be taking all his classes online because he says that he has too much time waiting around in his trailer in between scenes when shooting movies. This way, he can use his time effectively.
He thinks he’ll get his diploma within six to eight months, but we think that he has underestimated how hard busting through nearly four years in a few months can be. High school is A LOT of work. Lots of students find themselves spending more time doing homework and studying for tests than anything else. It will certainly be tough to juggle acting in a movie and getting all his assignments in on time. Best of luck, Mark!
