Five Canadian teens have qualified for the artistic gymnastic finals. Brittany Rogers, Victoria Moors, Ellie Black, Dominique Pegg and Kristina Vaculik’s performances mark the second time Canadian gymnasts have made it into the final round.
After four intense rounds of qualifications, Canada was only in sixth place. However, with only two other teams left to compete, these five hardworking teenagers were a shoo-in for the final round. In the end, Canada landed in last place, but at least they successfully advanced into the final round. The other seven teams placed in the artistic gymnastic finals were United States, Russia, China, Romania, Britain, Japan and Italy.
The courageous Canadian team was in the same rotation as the United States and Great Britain teams. They performed in front of twenty thousand fans who let outdeafeningcheers and contributed to the good vibes.
When asked about the whole event, sixteen year old Ellie Black of Halifax said“it was fantastic, a great experience.”
The five will perform in the bars, the vault, the beams and floor exercises in Tuesday’s final. It will begin at 4:30 p.m. local time, 11:30 a.m. ET.
