Today marks the 61st birthday of British science-fiction writer, Douglas Adams, who is best known for his hilarious HITCHHIKER’S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY series. To celebrate this special day, Google has set up a special Doodle which commemorated his beloved and best known work of fiction.
Born in 1952, Adams began his career in media broadcast. THE HITCHHIKER’S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY actually began as a radio show and then developed into everyone’s favourite “trilogy in five parts.” The books then lead to a number of feature films, the most recently starring Martin Freeman and Zooey Deschanel. The phenomenon that is the GUIDE has also spawned tons of other memorabilia and will forever be regarded as Adams’s best work.
