After twelve years as a band, Simple Plan decided to document their journey in a book. In preparation, drummer Chuck Comeau sifted through 30 boxes of memorabilia accumulated since the group’s formation. The collection ranges from record label rejection letters to set lists and concert tickets, along with notebooks filled with notes and memories from long tours. The project evolved into SIMPLE PLAN: THE OFFICIAL STORY, a hybrid of photo album, biography, and scrapbook designed to invite fans to relive milestones and the moments that shaped the music and the band’s public life.

The book marks the ten-year anniversary of their debut album No Pads, No Helmets … Just Balls. It was crafted by a Quebec journalist and features a carefully selected subset of photos from a catalog of 45,000 images that capture the band at work, on stage, and off duty. The result is a vivid, behind‑the‑scenes portrait that balances public performance with private moments that reveal the band’s character and camaraderie.

“It took a long time. You would stop and read something and think, Oh my God, I can’t believe I still have that,” Comeau recalls. “The first two albums were nonstop, a straight, zigzagging journey across the planet. Seeing how far we’ve come is the part I enjoy most.”

For fans wondering how to mark this milestone, the book offers a compelling way to celebrate. It is a must-read for anyone who has followed the Canadian rockers from their early days to their current status. The volume is available at Chapters bookstores, and ten percent of the proceeds go toward the Simple Plan Foundation, an organization that supports troubled youth. Source: Simple Plan Foundation. Readers are invited to share their thoughts and reflections on the book as part of this tribute to a band that has left a lasting imprint on Canadian music and youth outreach.
