After being a band for 12 years, Simple Plan decided to document their experiences in a book! In preparation, Simple Plan drummer, Chuck Comeau, went through 30 boxes of everything the band has kept ever since Simple Plan formed 12 years ago. This includes everything from record label rejection letters to set lists and concert tickets! In the end, they came up with a part photo album, part biography, part scrapbook called SIMPLE PLAN: THE OFFICIAL STORY.

The book celebrates the ten year anniversary of their debut album, ‘No Pads, No Helmets … Just Balls’ and was written by Quebec journalist Kathleen Lavoie. It also includes some of Comeau’s favourite photos out of the 45,000 photos of Simple Plan!

“It took a long time. You would stop an read something and think, ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe I still have that’,” Comeau tells reporters. “The first two albums was non-stop, straight, zigzagging around the plant. To see how much we’ve done is the most fun part for me.”

Will you be celebrating Simple Plan’s anniversary by picking up their book? This definitely seems like a must-read for all hardcore fans of the Canadian rockers. The book is now available at Chapters bookstores and 10 per cent of the proceeds will go towards the Simple Plan Foundation, which helps troubled youth.
