Fans and moviegoers alike assembled at the Scotiabank Theatre in Toronto earlier this week for the Canadian premiere of THE AVENGERS. Before the advance screening of the movie, fans were treated to a red carpet with celebrity attendees Mark Ruffalo, who plays Bruce Banner/The Hulk, Canadian native Cobie Smulders, who plays Agent Maria Hill of S.H.I.E.L.D., and a special fan – Canadian singer Lights!

THE MAGAZINE attended the premiere and had the chance to talk to Mark, Cobie and Lights. Here’s what they had to tell us about…
Why you need to see THE AVENGERS:
Mark: If you like movies and you like to have fun and you like excitement, then this is the movie for you. It’s funny, it’s exciting, it’s fun and you get to see all of your favourite comic book characters all together in one mash-up.

Cobie: There are a lot of cute boys in there. Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans…I feel like that’s your wheelhouse. It’s really funny and you get to see stunts and special effects scenes that you’ve never seen before.
The one superpower that every performer would love to have:
Lights: It would be teleportation because you wouldn’t need to take so much effort in moving your gear from city to city when you’re doing a tour and you could do one night in the Philippines and one night in Canada back-to-back. It’d be amazing and really easy.
Thank you Mark, Cobie and Lights! Read our review of the movie here.
