While Yogi Bear made a name for thieving bears everywhere, we’re happy to see one little bear cub out there who just wants to buy his food like everyone else. In Alaska yesterday, a bear cub that wandered into a grocery store with the obvious intention to purchase some vegetables and make them rightly his (we assume).
Yes, an IGA in Ketchikan, Alaska had a baby bear wander into the grocery store through the front door. The scared animal went over to the produce counter and made a mess of some vegetables. Maybe he’s a picky eater? Regardless, all of the damaged food was donated to a local farmer.
Authorities think that the scared bear is an orphan, and since his mother wasn’t nearby, he was wandering around looking for a place to hide. A brave customer finally grabbed the cub and he was returned to the wild.
