Meet Petal, the cutest “squitten” you’ll likely ever see!
That’s right, “squitten” as in squirrel + kitten. Petal suffers from a rare genetic deformity called radial hypoplasia which means that she doesn’t have any bones beyond the elbows of her front legs. As a result of this, when she is resting, she sits on her hind legs like a squirrel would!
Petal was adopted by 35-year-old Kerry Bowler who has another cat with a similar condition. Though RH isn’t fatal, it is a serious condition caused by inbreeding and means that Petal will need special care for the rest of her life.
Luckily, Bowler happily tells of how Petal and her existing cat became fast friends and are already very close. Despite her deformity, Petal continues to be a happy, playful little “squitten”!
