Cute kitties never get old! Year after year, there’s always a new crop of amazing felines that take the Internet by storm. Let’s revisit some of the adorable, wacky and incredible cats that won our hearts in 2012.

8) Kitty Knight Rises & Kitty of Steel: a superhero pairWhile they’re not lounging in the sun, Cooper and Pancake are also known as the feline versions of Batman and Superman!
7) Oskar: the blind kittenOskar may be blind, but that doesn’t mean he can’t have fun. The video of him playing with his first toys won “best cat video” at the Friskies’ cat video awards this fall.
6) Rupert: the giant catRupert is a Maine Coon Cat who weighed 20 pounds when he first made his Internet debut. He’s still growing, so he’ll likely get even bigger!
5) Nono-chan: the relaxed catNono-chan is just chilling out and enjoying the view. This kitty’s special moment was paired to music for the entire world to see.
4) Snoopy: the Instagram starSnoopy made a splash on Instagram by being cute, dressing up and being super playful. She started out on her owner’s Instagram, but then got her own and earned thousands of followers!
3) Anakin: the two-legged wonder Anakin is an inspiration. This feline was born without a pelvis and hind legs, but learned how to move around by pushing his weight forward to his front legs and using his tail to balance. His owner found him wandering in the woods and decided to give him a home and some love.
2) Venus: the two-faced felineWho can forget Venus? This Chimera cat was born with one half of her face solid black with a green eye and the other half tabby orange with a blue eye. Venus was born with two types of DNA, resulting in the very rare condition. At first, some thought the images were fake. Now we know that Venus is real and very special!
1) Tardar Sauce: the grumpy catTardar Sauce first gained Internet fame in September 2012 for his naturally sour expression. This grumpy looking kitty has gone on to be even more popular on Facebook and Twitter. There’s no denying that this cat is taking the online world by storm.
