Last season on THE X FACTOR, we were introduced to so many amazing groups that left lasting impressions on both the audience and the judges. One trio that caught our eye was Sweet Suspense, who wowed Simon with their performance of Tony Basil’s “Mickey,” but we’re sent home in a shocking elimination. We caught up with Millie Thrasher (14), Celine Polenghi (16) and Summer Reign (17) to chat about their experience of being Top 12 finalists and life after the show.
1. How would you sum up your experience on X FACTOR in 10 words or less?
An absolutely, incredibly, totally, magnificently, stupendously, rewarding, fantastic experience.
2. Everyone was shocked when you were eliminated – how did you handle it?
We knew that we had gained so much from this experience, that this was just the beginning. We were sad, but also very excited about our journey moving forward.
3. You seemed to be close with Restless Road. What was your favourite memory from hanging out with them?
Our favorite memory hanging out with Restless Road was making them watch chick flicks with us.
4. What do you think is the biggest challenge you’ve faced as a group so far?
The biggest challenge we’ve faced as a group so far has been transitioning our mindsets from being solo artists to functioning as a group. Although this was a challenge, our transition was surprisingly smooth!
5. What is your favourite song to perform and why?
“Wishing On A Star” by Rose Royce. This was the first song that we performed on the show as a group. The performance was the day we realized how special we are as a group.
6. What’s one thing the average viewer at home probably wouldn’t know about you?
We are such Throwback Thursday kind of girls. We love going back and watching old TV shows and movies from the 90s or even the 70s.
7. If you could collaborate with any artist in the world, who would it be and why?
Justin Timberlake because he is so diverse and incredibly talented! We would be honored to collaborate with him.
8. Which judge from the show was your favourite and why?
We cannot choose a favorite from the judges because the panel was so spectacular. Kelly Rowland took us away with her beauty and exceptional advice. She always went out of her way to inspire and motivate us. Demi Lovato is someone we all have looked up to for years and we continued to take so much away from the advice she gave us. Plus, Demi is stunning. Paulina Rubio, besides being the cutest thing, had amazing critiques that helped us become a better group. Simon Cowell is all around amazing. Being our mentor he reminded us to have fun and gave us guidance that will continue to strengthen us as a group. All the judges were amazing.
9. What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone who’s interested in auditioning for the show?
Just do it. You never know if you don’t try. Trust us, we know from experience.
10. What’s next for you as a group?
Being on THE X FACTOR has created many tremendous opportunities for us. We are looking foreword to being in the studio, cutting an album and looking at touring opportunities.
