Austin Mahone recently let his devoted fans, the Mahomies, in on a big secret. He released his long awaited EP titled The Secret and kicked off a summer tour that features notable guests including Fifth Harmony, The Vamps, Alex Angelo, and Shawn Mendes. The EP is available now and offers a mix of upbeat anthems, intimate ballads, and songs that come straight from the heart. The tour promises a high energy party, with Mahone bringing a refreshed show, brand new choreography, and a live band to raise the roof every night.

The magazine caught up with Austin Mahone in Toronto, where he opened up about the EP, the tour, and a possible collaboration with Justin Bieber.

Asked to describe the sound of The Secret, he explained that every track carries a vibe similar to a song he earlier released called What About Love, a thread he finds comforting across the record. He noted there are several heartfelt ballads and even a track that he wrote and produced himself.

Right now the song he has gravitating toward is The One I’ve Waited For, a quiet, emotional ballad about a woman who feels like the one he has waited his whole life for.

On the tour with guests like Fifth Harmony, fans can expect energy and fun from start to finish. Mahone wants both his fans and potential new listeners to leave with a positive feeling and a strong sense of wanting more. The show features dancers, a refreshed stage design, and a live band, all contributing to a more dynamic concert experience.

Reflecting on his beginnings, Mahone recalled deciding to pursue singing and performing around age 15, when he started posting videos on YouTube and began traveling to perform at birthday parties and small events.

Asked about the songs he currently plays most often on his iPod, Mahone named Drake, highlighting a track from his latest album and an older favorite called Houstatlantavegas. He also expressed admiration for Chris Brown.

Not a duet, but Bieber had a song from a year ago that he worked on and is pursuing a new sound, so he gave it to Mahone to work with, with plans to use it on his next album. The collaboration is not finalized as a duet, but the door is open for future possibilities.

Justin has offered practical tips when in the booth, guiding him on how to deliver certain lines and how to warm up effectively, contributing to his creative process.

Speaking of Canadians, Mahone praises Canadian fans as the best. They are passionate, loud, and loyal, especially in Toronto, where the artist always feels at home.

With a closing message for the Mahomies, Mahone expresses love and gratitude for the support and encourages everyone to check out The Secret.

Thank you, Austin!
