Cassadee Pope has been signed to Universal Republic Nashville! She became a star while competing on The Voice, ultimately becoming the Season 3 winner this past December.
Yesterday, Cassadee tweeted “Happy to announce I’ve officially been signed to Universal Nashville! Feels good to be a part of @BigMachine!” Her new label Big Machine Records also tweeted out “We’re so excited to officially welcome @CassadeePope to the #RepublicNashville family!”
Cassadee got The Voice judges’ attention right from the beginning, making all four judges (Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green, Blake Shelton) press their buttons and turn their chairs around with her version of Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn” during the Blind Auditions. She chose Blake as her mentor, who chose many country songs for Cassadee. Singing songs such as Keith Urban’s “Stupid Boy” and Maroon 5’s “Payphone,” Cassadee’s live performances made her a top contender every week. The recorded versions of her covers have also topped the iTunes charts while in the competition. Her performance of “Over You,” originally by Blake’s wife Miranda Lambert, shot to the top of the iTunes All Genre Chart.
Cassadee first got her start in the music business with her band Hey Monday. Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz acted as a mentor to her and the band, signing them to a joint record deal with his label Decaydance and Columbia Records. They released two albums and toured in Canada, the U.S., Europe, Asia, and South America. The band broke up in late 2011, but Cassadee has not given up her dream of making it big. And it looks like she’s on the right track to getting there!
