Cassadee Pope signs with Universal Republic Nashville, marking a major step after her The Voice Season 3 victory and a streak of charting performances. The move signals momentum as she expands her public footprint into the country and pop music scene.
The news followed her rise to stardom after competing on The Voice, where she sealed the win in Season 3 in December and impressed audiences with a versatile vocal range and stage presence that translated to mass applause from viewers.
Yesterday, Cassadee posted that she has officially been signed to Universal Nashville and that it feels good to be part of Big Machine. The label Big Machine Records echoed the sentiment, welcoming Cassadee Pope to the Republic Nashville family and signaling a collaborative future under the Republic Nashville umbrella.
Cassadee captured the judges’ attention in the Blind Auditions with a bold take on Natalie Imbruglia’s Torn, prompting all four coaches to turn their chairs. She chose Blake Shelton as her mentor, and he selected many country songs for her. Performances of Keith Urban’s Stupid Boy and Maroon 5’s Payphone helped keep her in the spotlight each week. The studio versions of her covers climbed the iTunes charts during the competition, and her rendition of Over You, a track associated with Blake’s family, rose to the top of the iTunes All Genre Chart.
Before stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist, Cassadee led the pop punk outfit Hey Monday. Pete Wentz, of Fall Out Boy fame, mentored the band and helped secure a joint deal with his Decaydance label and Columbia Records. The group released two albums and toured extensively across Canada, the United States, Europe, Asia, and South America. Hey Monday disbanded in late 2011, but Cassadee did not give up her dream; the next chapter began to take shape as her career progressed toward mainstream success.
Her journey has continued to unfold with a blend of creative projects, live performances, and chart moments that underscored her resilience and determination. The signing with Universal Republic Nashville positions her to release new music and connect with a broader audience as she builds on the momentum from her early TV success.
