Ed Sheeran is one of a handful of young musicians who will be covering classic protest songs for charity this year!
U2 frontman, Bono, has brought together a number of contemporary musicians to record covers of classic songs for an upcoming album from Bono’s charity, “The One Campaign.”
Sheeran will be doing a cover of Bob Dylan’s classic song, “Masters of War.” Other artists included on the album are Mumford and Son and Elvis Costello who are covering Bruce Springsteen’s “The Ghost of Tom Joad.”
will.i.am and Green Day are also featured on the album which aims to get world leaders to focus on poverty before the G8 summit in Northern Ireland next week. By recruiting younger musicians, Bono and his charity hope to get the younger generation to take an interest in world affairs and begin fighting for justice.
