As an AMERICAN IDOL judge, we love her. As a musician … we tend to forget she’s a musician. Between her resume of actor, dancer, judge, and VENUS razor spokeswoman, it’s only natural that her music isn’t as strong as her other assets. We forgive her (kind of).
There’s nothing particularly “bad” about Jennifer Lopez’ latest album LOVE?, but there’s just nothing spectacular about it, either. For starters, the album name is more suited to one of her pretty smelling bottles of perfume than a compilation of her songs. Her best track “On the Dance Floor” has a catchy chorus followed by a fun moment of a “la, la, la, la, la…”, but the rest of the song itself is only worthy of a background music for a club scene in a movie. The rest of the songs just all sound exactly the same.
JLo, revert some of the IDOL critiques upon yourself for your next album and, for goodness sakes, try a different sound for once! – 2.5/5
