Good news for all the Katy Perry enthusiasts out there! ‘Prism,’ the album we’ve all been waiting for, has officially dropped early! It is streaming RIGHT NOW on her website, http://www.katyperry.com/ and features 16 brand-new energetic, catchy, utterly danceable tracks that will definitely be on repeat for the next few days!
With the debut of single “Roar” and more recently “Dark Horse,” Perry has left fans practically salivating with anticipation for her new album. It was originally set for release on October 22, but Perry decided to put the album up for streaming before the launch. Physical copies of it are still available for pre-order.
In addition, Perry announced last night via Twitter that the first 300,000 copies of the deluxe version of the album (16 tracks instead of 13) will come in a “limited edition iridescent package” that will include seed paper that fans can “plant to spread the light.” Perry is definitely getting spiritual on us – fitting, as one track on the album is actually titled “Spiritual” and was co-written by her and current boyfriend John Mayer.
This will be Perry’s fourth LP and is the follow-up to her 2010 sensation ‘Teenage Dream.’ She recently performed on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, singing both “Roar” and “Walking on Air” to a captivated audience. Apparently her costumes were incredibly elaborate for both, including a stage decked out to look like a jungle and a dazzlingly bright metallic-clad Perry. Seems like she has a theme going here!
