With only 22 days to go until the opening ceremony of the London Olympics, the official music video of the Olympic anthem has been released. “Survival” by the British band Muse was chosen as the anthem for the games. The band revealed that they actually wrote the song specially for the occasion.

Lots of people may only know Muse from TWILIGHT, so now they get to expand to a wider demographic of listeners…namely, anyone with access to a TV. The song will be played when athletes enter the stadium as well as before the medal ceremonies, so, yes, we’re all probably going to get very tired of it by the time the closing ceremony rolls around.

The music video features footage from past Olympic Games and it certainly does its job of getting audiences excited for this year’s sporting events. The song itself is about perseverance, which is fitting because all athletes need to work persistently if they want to win a medal and become legends!
