Everyone knows One Direction and Taylor Swift are wildly popular, but who knew they were popular enough to earn a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records?
One Direction landed themselves a spot on the coveted list for breaking the record for highest debut for a U.K. group when they burst onto the scene with “Live While We’re Young.” They debuted at number three on the U.S. singles charts and, as we all know, they haven’t slowed down since!
Taylor Swift, on the other hand, can boast not one, but two records! One was for her hit song “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” which became the fastest selling digital single when it became number one on the iTunes singles chart just 50 minutes after being released!
The second record Taylor broke was for being the first solo female artist two million-selling weeks on the U.S. album chart! The record only began in 1991, but that’s still a major accomplishment!
