One Direction is back at the top of the charts! Their brand new album, ‘Midnight Memories,’ debuted at #1 on Canada’s Nielsen SoundScan Top Albums chart with over 62,000 copies sold. They’ve already made history as the first group to ever have their first three albums debut at #1 in the US; not to mention it’s the UK’s fastest selling album of 2013!
The album, which features hit singles “Best Song Ever” and “Story of my Life,” features the boys’ writing on 15 of the 18 tracks, not to mention collaborations with a number of different longtime friends/artists.
1D fans took over Central Park on November 26 to celebrate the release of ‘Midnight Memories’ with a special performance on ABC’s “Good Morning America” – which aired across three days and earned the show’s biggest crowd ever! The boys also made a huge appearance at the 2013 American Music Awards, taking home ambitious awards for Best Pop/Rock Album and the Best Pop/Rock Group.
Fans can catch One Direction as they perform as guests on “Saturday Night Live” on December 7 (on NBC/Global) and on December 9 as their ‘Midnight Memories’ album release party will be televised on the CW Network at 9pm ET!
And that’s not all! In early 2014, One Direction will begin their global Where Are We 2014 stadium tour, which includes 11 sold out dates in the UK and Ireland. The 21-city tour hits North America next summer, kicking off August 1, 2014 in Toronto, ON at the Rogers Centre! The tour includes stops in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami and Boston, among others. Additional dates will be announced! Tickets for the upcoming tour will go on sale on December 7here!
