10. Meta Knight (KIRBY)
Meta Knight is an honourable swordsman and a frequent rival to Kirby. However, he doesn’t really want to take over the world and his goals are usually in line with Kirby’s. He even helps Kirby occasionally!
9. Wario (WARIOWARE INC.)
The anti-Mario! Loud, greedy and gassy, Wario is as detestable as his appearance is. Though his morals are borderline criminal, he poses as no real threat. He’s also made quite a name for himself with his addictive mini-game series.
8. Smeagol/Gollum (THE LORD OF THE RINGS)
You can’t help but feel sorry for Smeagol; he’s actually quite cute. And it’s not like he wants to be bad, but it’s the power of the One Ring that has corrupted him and given him a nasty split personality!
7. Bender (FUTURAMA)
This rude, loud-mouthed robot is Fry’s best friend. He’ll try to steal anything and frequently flaunts his poor morals. He knows what he is and he’s proud of it, and when his friends really, really, really need him, he might save the day… maybe.
6. Wolverine (X-MEN)
Can you blame a tortured, ex-subject of a mutant experiment for being a little grumpy? Though he may seem a little rough around the edges, Wolverine can always be counted on for his loyalty and courage.
5. Artemis Fowl (ARTEMIS FOWL)
A rich, former child genius who also happens to be a villain, Artemis is good at being evil. Despite his wicked ways, he’s become an asset in helping to save the world on more than one occasion.
4. Iron Man (IRON MAN)
He’s outspoken, cocky and full of issues, but you can’t help but root for him, right? Whether he’s blowing things up or verbally sparring with his adversaries (and friends), Tony Stark always arms himself with style and a punch line.
3. Captain Jack Sparrow (PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN)
Though he is our favourite pirate of all-time, Captain Jack is no angel. He lies, steals and cheats. Is he your ally, or is he biding his time so that he can make off with your ship? He’s not a very good hero, but he’s definitely a great pirate.
2. Spike (BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER)
First he’s bad, then he’s good, and then he’s bad again. One of Buffy’s strangest vampire acquaintances, this leather-wearing bad boy has hopped from trying to romance the famous slayer to trying to kill her—sometimes all in one season!
1. Batman (BATMAN)
The Dark Knight is the poster boy of anti-heroism, choosing to brood—and work—alone. His behaviour and the decisions he makes might not be entirely pure, but he’s Gotham’s best friend and its menace!
