ELISHA CUTHBERT: Calgary-born, Quebec-raised Elisha Cuthbert plays the beautiful next-door neighbour who catches the eye of President-wannabe Matthew Kidman in teen movie The Girl Next Door. This is Elisha’s first big role in a movie and she is perfect for the part.
RACHEL MCADAMS: Fellow Canuck actress Rachel McAdams got her big break in Mean Girls, starring with Lindsay Lohan as the gorgeous, yet mean-spirited, Regina George. It’s, like, no wonder why Rachel went home with the title of, like, Best Breakthrough Performance for her role. “I know, right?”

ROUND 2: TV TIME
ELISHA CUTHBERT : Of course, before she was the girl next door, Elisha was TV’s hottest actress. She was the host of Popular Mechanics for Kids as a child and Elisha also starred as 24’s Kim Bauer. She left season four to pursue her movie career. Let’s hope it paid off.
RACHEL MCADAMS: Let’s just say television isn’t Rachel’s strong suit. Aside from a few appearances on The Famous Jett Jackson, Earth: Final Conflict, and a regular role in Slings and Arrows, she hasn’t found her trade on the tube.
Two rounds down, three to go! The clock is ticking and Elisha uses her CTU training to knock out Rachel for the point.

ROUND 3: THRILLER THRUST
ELISHA CUTHBERT: Elisha plays Carly in last year’s super slasher flick House of Wax. The better-than-average horror pic has one of the hottest young casts in Hollywood and can be summed up in three G’s: gruesome, gory, and good.
RACHEL MCADAMS: Meanwhile, Rachel tries her hand at the thriller genre in an unimpressive little film called Red Eye alongside an airplane-stalker played by Cillian Murphy. While the film has an interesting premise, it is poorly executed. Murphy should stick to the Scarecrow and McAdams should choose her co-stars more carefully.
Elisha’s House of Wax burns Rachel’s Red Eye. Ouch! Cuthbert scores…again!

ROUND 4: ROMANTIC RIOT
ELISHA CUTHBERT: Cuthbert has a cameo appearance in the British romantic comedy Love Actually. Actually, it isn’t much of an appearance. In fact, she’s only in the movie for a couple minutes. Big deal.
RACHEL MCADAMS: On the other hand, Rachel McAdams is the leading lady in The Notebook, one of modern Hollywood’s greatest love stories. She also met her boyfriend, Ryan Gosling (another Canadian!), on the set and they won the MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss in 2005. It doesn’t get any more romantic than that.
Elisha, eat your heart out. Miss McAdams comes back to tie the game!

ROUND 5: PROSPECT PUNCH
ELISHA CUTHBERT: Elisha Cuthbert shows no signs of slowing down. I can’t help but wish that she would return to 24 as a series regular in season six. Sure, she has House of Wax and The Girl Next Door on her résumé, but otherwise her movie career hasn’t really taken off.
RACHEL MCADAMS: However, Rachel McAdams is flying high. She may have caught a red-eye flight, but the London, Ontario-born actress is here to stay. Rachel already has six major movies under her name with another drama already in the works.
Rachel’s runaway success makes her film future bright.

ROUND UP: Elisha Cuthbert is hurt. Both of these Canadian cuties have carved a name for themselves on the silver screen, but Elisha can’t be crowned acting queen. That’s because Rachel McAdams’ beauty and natural talent have met with greater acclaim, putting the “eh” in A-list and the “can” in Canadian.
