2012 MTV EMAs: Recap

The 2012 MTV EMAs rocked Frankfurt, Germany last night with Germany native, Heidi Klum, hosting the annual gala. The ceremony, which takes place in a different European city each year, celebrates the best in music with awards and performances to a live audience of over 1,500 fans and millions more who watch the telecast awards at home.

The big winners this year were Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift, who went home with three awards each. Taylor was also the first winner of the newly added Best Look category.

Though unable to attend, the boys of One Direction scored an award for Best New Act and Biggest Fans. Way to go, Directioners!

South Korean pop sensation, Psy’s hilarious and crazy video for “Gangnam Style” was awarded Best Video and Psy also performed his hit song, complete with the trademark dance moves, live on stage.

Other performers included No Doubt, fun., Carly Rae Jepson, The Killers, Rita Ora and many more including trapeze artists and fire dancers!

The late, great Whitney Houston, who passed away earlier this year, was also honoured in a special tribute.
