You’ve waited, you’ve wondered and finally, the day has arrived. After much speculation, the rumour mill has churned out its last bit of grain. The role of Finnick Odair in the upcoming CATCHING FIRE has finally been cast. So who’s the lucky actor to get this coveted role?
None other than Sam Claflin! Sam’s name has been attached to the project for a very long time, so we can’t say that the casting choice came as a huge surprise. He has quite the blockbuster-rich résumé, including being cast in PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES and most recently, SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN. Considering the fact that he’s only been acting professionally since 2010, we’d say that’s pretty impressive!
In other CATCHING FIRE casting news, Stephanie Leigh Schlund has been cast as Cashmere, another one of the returning tributes. Stephanie played Megan Blakelee in THE LAST SONG alongside Miley Cyrus.
What do you think of the casting choice for Finnick? Who did you envision taking on the role when you were reading the book?
