In a conversation about her career, Mia Rose Frampton, daughter of legendary rocker Peter Frampton, speaks about carving out her own path in film and television. She brings a blend of musical upbringing, on-camera experience, and a clear sense of purpose to audiences who see her as more than a famous name. Across television, film, and upcoming projects, this young performer shows both gratitude for her roots and a determination to shape her future on her own terms.

Asked about her favorite character among the many she has portrayed, Mia Rose Frampton explains that every role holds a unique appeal, but one in particular touched her deeply. Mary Clear in THAT’S WHAT I AM resonated because it tackled bullying in a way that carried a lasting and positive message. “I like all of them for different reasons, but one role that was very close to my heart was Mary Clear in THAT’S WHAT I AM. It dealt with such a current topic of bullying. It had a great message!” (Citation: personal interview)

When asked about her preferred acting method, she replies that improv tops her list. The spontaneity of creating something on the fly appeals to her, and she takes pleasure in making people laugh and sharing a moment with fellow performers. “Probably improv. I like coming up with things out of the blue and I’ve always loved making people laugh and having a good time. I love acting with other people and working off of them.” (Citation: personal interview)

If she could pick any character to play, who would it be and why? Her dream is to take on Shakespeare, with Juliet from ROMEO AND JULIET at the top of the list. The appeal lies in the writer’s craft and the way each performer brings a distinct interpretation to the same lines. “Hmm… my dream is to do Shakespeare. I’d love to play Juliet from ROMEO AND JULIET. Shakespeare’s writing style is very interesting, yet everyone who has ever played a Shakespearean character has their own take on it.” (Citation: personal interview)

What is it like being the daughter of Peter Frampton? She says the question is funny but it is still just her dad, and she is deeply proud of him. She admires his ability to do what he loves every day and values the moments they share making music together. Yet, the fact that he is her father can feel intimidating at times. “To me, it’s just my dad and I’m very proud of him. I’m happy that he gets to do what he loves everyday. I sing and play guitar and we have played music together. Even though he is my dad, it’s still pretty intimidating!” (Citation: personal interview)

How are her musical endeavours coming along? She began playing guitar around age 12, an instrument that demands ongoing practice. It is one of the coolest instruments, offering space for a unique personal style. She feels she is making progress, but she prefers to deepen her guitar skills before fully entering the music business. She has thought about pursuing a music career, but wants to be more advanced on guitar first. “I’ve been playing guitar since I was about 12 years old. It’s definitely an instrument you have to work at continuously, but I think it’s one of the coolest instruments. Everyone can have their own unique style. Overall, it’s coming along, but I want to wait before venturing into that side of the business. I’ve definitely thought about developing a music career, but I think I want to be more advanced on guitar before I start that.” (Citation: personal interview)

What’s her favourite style of music to play or listen to? Her taste leans toward contemporary R&B rather than older styles, with an appreciation for artists like Frank Ocean who inspire her. “Probably R&B. Not old style R&B, but new style R&B like Frank Ocean. He’s my favourite artist at the moment.” (Citation: personal interview)

Are she currently working on any new projects? Pilot season keeps her busy with auditions while college prep also looms on the horizon. She earned admission to a program at NYU Tisch, focusing on the Meisner Method, a blended approach to acting. Summer plans are shaped by this training and the ongoing rounds of auditions. “It’s still pilot season, so I’m busy with auditions and I’m also starting college prep. I just got into a program at NYU Tisch. It’s called the Meisner Method, a combination of two acting methods. That’s what I’m preparing for in the summer.” (Citation: personal interview)

Who would you say is her greatest inspiration? She admires a mix of classic film legends and contemporary talents. Drew Barrymore’s career arc inspires her, alongside Meryl Streep, Naomi Watts, and Anne Hathaway, whose versatility spans romance, drama, and musical storytelling. “I love Drew Barrymore just because I love her progression and that’s a career I would want for myself in the future. She was amazing in GREY GARDENS and she can do romantic comedies and dramas. Obviously I love Meryl Streep. Naomi Watts is also one of my favourites! There’s also Anne Hathaway, who was amazing in LES MISERABLES.”

What important show biz lessons has she learned so far? The industry is tough and can be overwhelming at times, but she has learned to let things go and not take anything too seriously. She reminds herself that there are a million other jobs in the world that anyone can do, but the chance to be someone else for a living remains a remarkable privilege. “It’s very hard and it can tear you down sometimes, but I’ve learned to let things go and never take anything too seriously. I try to remember that there are a million other jobs in the world that anyone can do, but I think that getting to be somebody else as a profession is pretty fantastic!” (Citation: personal interview)

The conversation closes with appreciation for Mia’s honesty, drive, and the exciting path ahead for a performer who continues to grow beyond the family name. (End of interview)
