July has arrived, and with it the promise of long days, warm evenings, and plenty of ways to fill the weeks ahead. For readers, film fans, and music lovers across Canada and the United States, summer offers a chance to swap routine for small adventures or cozy nights in. Whether you plan in advance or go week by week, there are always fresh options to explore during the season.

Flip It

Fans of Pretty Little Liars have a reason to keep turning pages this July as Sara Shepard releases the ninth installment Twisted. The book follows the same fast paced mystery that drew millions into the series. Meanwhile, the TV adaptation continues to air on MuchMusic, with new episodes every Tuesday at 8 pm Eastern, giving fans a chance to enjoy both formats in parallel.

You can also revisit The Hunger Games trilogy and look forward to the next wave of films. Jennifer Lawrence is cast as Katniss Everdeen, and Canadian actor Alexander Ludwig appears as Cato. Lawrence is known for her role in X-Men First Class, and Ludwig for Race to Witch Mountain, helping readers connect to the evolving film universe.

Watch It

Many new films are ready to heat up your summer. Monte Carlo is in theaters now, starring Selena Gomez, Leighton Meester, and Katie Cassidy as three friends who vacation in Paris when one of them is mistaken for a British heiress, and a thrilling new adventure begins. For Potter fans, the Harry Potter release wraps up on July 15 with Deathly Hallows Part 2, while Winnie the Pooh lands the same day as a new animated adventure with Pooh and friends trying to cheer up a troubled Christopher Robin.

Live It – Summer Tours

Big acts are in the middle of epic summer tours. Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj, Jessie and the Toy Boys, and Nervo have all lined up dates across the continent. The shows stop in Winnipeg on July 4, Montreal on August 11, and Toronto on August 13 and 14. Taylor Swift has said she wants to see you at a show. She plays in Toronto on July 15 and 16, Edmonton on August 18 and 19, and Vancouver on September 10 and 11. Finally, the summer’s pinnacle concert event is Summer Rush, set for August 6 in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and August 7 in Vaughan, Ontario. The lineup features Emily Osment, Classified, Pitbull, Dev, and Alyssa Reid, delivering an energy filled concert experience.

So, don’t be bored this summer… pick something and get off the couch and do it!
