SKETCH
Space itself rips open, revealing a gateway to another universe. But what lies beyond? Horror? Love? Or maybe both, if it happens to contain a repulsive, planet-sized monster with romantic intentions! Nothing less than the fate of human and robot-kind is at stake as the Futurama crew takes on The Beast With A Billion Backs.
EXTRAS?
Commentaries, a 30-minute FUTURAMA episode – “The Lost Adventure”, two featurettes (Meet Yivo!, A Brief History Of Deathball), deleted scenes/storyboards (Original Opening, Fry and Colleen Meeting, St. Asimov Parade, Zapp and Scientists, Amy, Fry and Leela, Scruffy, the Janitor), 3D Models With Animator Discussion, bloopers, Storyboard Animatic: The Beast With A Billion Backs, Part One, and a sneak peak at the next FUTURAMA adventure.
VERDICT?
More of a throwback to the action/adventure FUTURAMA episodes, which should please those who were left cold by the time travel paradox/Leela and Fry love story in BENDER’S BIG SCORE. Absolutely awesome animation and some seriously hilarious gags that will equally thrill and frustrate (frustrate as in, why isn’t this back on TV?! If only it could swap places with THE SIMPSONS). In a word, essential!
