We’re so excited for the BOY MEETS WORLD spin-off that’s in the works, especially since Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel are both on board! Now the star of the new series, aptly titled GIRL MEETS WORLD, has been cast!
Young actress, Rowan Blanchard, will play Riley Matthews, the daughter of Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence. Blanchard is already a fairly established actress, despite being only 11 years old with roles in SPY KIDS: ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD 4D and THE BACK-UP PLAN which starred Jennifer Lopez. Blanchard also has her own YouTube channel, Twitter and Facebook fan page.
GIRL MEETS WORLD producer Michael Jacobs said, “As soon as Rowan walked into the room, I was reminded of why Ben Savage was loved as Cory Matthews.”
A confirmed date hasn’t been announced for the series, but if the show gets picked up it could be airing on the Disney channel as early as fall 2013!
