As you may or may not have heard, GLEE: THE 3D CONCERT MOVIE is heading to theaters tomorrow! For those who missed their live tour, this is basically the same thing, just with the performances interjected with backstage footage of the stars hanging out. The films a neat experience for the true gleeker who wants to learn more about their favourite actor, and witness some outstanding performances in another whole dimension.
Given all the changes that are going to unfold within the third season, we’re actually glad that there’s a bare-bone concert movie to preserve in our time capsule. One day, we’ll look back on the original cast that made the show so infamous. Maybe the new cast will be great, maybe the potential spin off for Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Chris Colfer will be just as good… but our spirits are low. We’ve had enough spin offs and cast changeover’s break our hearts in the past. We may never love again. (Looking at you, JOEY, the awful FRIENDS spin off.)
But, if you’re a true, hardcore GLEE fan who got through the thick and thin (both thick and thin describing bad) of season 2, then you’ve probably already got your ticket booked. On the whole, it’s a film that’s just live, elaborate performances with blimps of “hey, the GLEE kids are real people, too!” Was this review necessary? Not really, but hey, we’re glad you read it! – Rating: Whatever/5
