Everyone’s favourite sour puss, Grumpy Cat (real name: Tardar Sauce) will soon become the star of her very own feature film!
Teaming up with Broken Road Productions, Tardar will be the star of a new movie, which will be similar to another beloved grumpy cat, Garfield! Inspired by the numerous memes floating around starring Tardar, Broken Road Productions founder and producer, Todd Garner, intends to make a family comedy with Tardar’s iconic face as the punchline.
“Rare is an image that evokes that much comedy,” Garner stated. “You read all of the memes and the comments, and one is funnier than the next. We think we can build a big family comedy around this character.”
Grumpy Cat isn’t the online feline with a feature film though! Lil Bub’s recent documentary, LIL BUB AND FRIENDZ went on to win the title of Best Feature Film at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival’s online competition! We’re sure Tardar’s movie will be a much bigger hit!
