Harry, Ron and Hermione set out on their perilous mission to track down and destroy the secret to Voldemort’s immortality and destruction – the Horcruxes. On their own and on the run, the three friends must now rely on one another more than ever as Dark Forces in their midst threaten to tear them apart. What can we say that hasn’t already been said? The most faithful book-to-movie adaptation in the POTTER series thus far has divided fans like no other: Was it a choreful, boring walk’n’talk through the forest or an almighty bit-chomping exercise in prep for the sure-to-be thrilling conclusion? Perhaps neither, perhaps both.
We’ll take the easy route and point out that we find it difficult to rate without having seen PART 2, but that being said this is cracking stuff, with Beedle the Bard’s “The Three Brothers” sequence being one of the most beautiful things we’ve seen in any movie, ever. Period. As you might imagine, the Blu is dressed for success, but even if you are watching the digital copy on your iPhone, this is the very definition of un-missable stuff. Roll on July 15th! 5 stars.
