Gentlemen, start your grunting. Every single episode ever of HOME IMPROVEMENT is now available to take home in one convenient tool box, as today is the release of the HOME IMPROVEMENT 20th ANNIVERSARY COMPLETE COLLECTION!
For those who don’t know what HOME IMPROVEMENT was all about, it followed the life of Tim ‘The Tool Man’ Taylor (Tim Allen) as he hosted the show-within-the-show “Tool Time”. With his sidekick Al (Richard Karn), his wife, Jill (Patricia Richardson) and their three sons Brad (Zachery Ty Bryan), Randy (Jonathan Taylor Thomas a.k.a Zac Efron of the early 90’s), and Mark (Taran Noah Smith), the show covered everything from hot rods to teenage proms.
Tim Allen’s clumsy, car loving, “he man” character was one of the best characters that came out of 90’s television. If any other TV sitcom dad pulled out the classic lines he did, they would seem lame. Let’s take a look back at some of these lines:
“Hello, everyone. I’m Tim ‘The Tool Man’ Taylor. And of course, you all know my assistant ‘He eats, therefore he is’ Al Borland.”
“There are only two words in the kitchen for a real man. ‘Can’ and ‘opener.'”
“If it doesn’t say “Binford”, someone else made it.”
“Man’s speakers, that’s what I’m after. Speakers with attitude. Speakers that haven’t
shaved in a couple of days.”
“The tools are ours, I just don’t want you touching them.”
“Are you saying we as in “we” or we as in “weeeeeeee”?”
“Hello, everyone, I’m Tim “The Blues Man” Taylor. And of course, you all know my assistant Al “The Reason I Got the Blues” Borland.”
Here’s a glimpse into the insanity:
