Keke Palmer headlines this month in TRUE JACKSON, VP, portraying True, a bold 15-year-old who rises to the role of vice president at a major fashion house. In a wide‑ranging chat, she sits down with Miranda Cosgrove of iCarly to talk about music, possible guest stars, and the quirks of fame, all while sharing behind‑the‑scenes moments from the show.

MIRANDA: What is your real name? KEKE: Lauren Key Palmer. MIRANDA: So who first called you Keke? KEKE: It was my older sister who gave me that nickname. MIRANDA: Do you have any other nicknames? KEKE: My mom calls me Randy, which always makes me cringe. MIRANDA: That nickname is adorable, really? KEKE: Maybe for some, but not for me. MIRANDA: It isn’t adorable to me either.

MIRANDA: Do you ever listen to your own music? KEKE: Not really. Do you? MIRANDA: No. I get embarrassed and want to hide when I hear my voice on a CD or see a video. When I listen to my music or see my video, I think, turn it off. I just want to scream and throw something across the room.

KEKE: What do you do when you are online? MIRANDA: I can get sidetracked easily, especially when homework is due. I end up IMing friends and streaming music videos for hours. I used to shop online a lot, but every time I ordered something, it looked nothing like the picture on the screen.

KEKE: If you could invite a guest star to True Jackson, VP, who would you pick? MIRANDA: Rihanna and Shia LaBeouf. KEKE: They are incredible. He is funny and very talented. MIRANDA: He is cool, and he is a great actor. I used to love Even Stevens; I watched it all the time. KEKE: I did too and still do, honestly.

MIRANDA: And if the show could snag another famous guest, who would you want? KEKE: I would love to have Chris Brown. Perhaps True could dress him for a concert or share a scene with him. MIRANDA: He could even be True’s love interest. KEKE: You might just be on your way to producing the show yourself, honestly.
