What more can we say about the latest movie starring the Rock, JOURNEY 2 THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND? We’ve already done a timeline, a “make your own story” timeline, and we chatted with its director, Brad Peyton. So yes, we’re pretty excited about this sequel.
After Sean Anderson (Josh Hutcherson) thinks he’s heard a coded distress signal from his grandfather, he decides to embark on a quest to follow the signal and find a mysterious island that’s literally in the middle of nowhere. His new stepdad (Dwayne “The Rock”Johnson) is unable to stop him from going, so he decides to tag along. They team up with a helicopter pilot (Luis Guzman) and his daughter (Vanessa Hudgens) and the four soon find themselves on an adventure of a lifetime where they must find, survive and get off the island before they’re buried with it forever.
Sure, it’s not as good as our all-time distressed island movie, JURASSIC PARK, but it has adventure, stunning 3D (even despite the sup-par special effects) and The Rock doing that hilarious thing with his pecs. Check out the trailer below…
