PIRATES: ON STRANGER TIDES sails onto home video in a deluxe DVD, Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray package. This is one of those releases that demands more than a two or three disc set, delivering five discs loaded with piratey goodness. The five-disc collection makes room for everything fans crave from the film and its extended offerings.

Jack Sparrow has shown audiences that determination can carry you far, even to a fantastical Fountain of Youth. This piece takes a cue from the infamous captain and offers a playful guide for chasing treasure on the high seas, or simply imagining the voyage from the comfort of a couch. The idea is to blend adventure with a nod to the movie’s spirit, inviting fans to dive into the treasure hunt and let their imaginations steer the voyage.

STEP ONE: Break any curses that may be trailing you. Curses could include undead pirates bent on wrecking the voyage, Davy Jones seeking a score to settle, a Kraken ready to close in, or the threat of being trapped aboard a ship with Blackbeard the Pirate.

STEP TWO: Equip yourself! A shipbound adventurer never departs without essentials. Treasure map; a compass that won’t point north; a sword; heavy cannonballs; a shovel; a parrot and/or monkey.

STEP THREE: Dress snazzy. A pirate’s wardrobe might include a tooth necklace, beads on the beard, at least one dreadlock or braid in the hair, and a hat and/or bandana. The hat should feature multiple points, and a touch of black eyeliner completes the look.

STEP FOUR: Seek and ye shall find. Here are ideas to stay entertained on a long ship ride across the Caribbean: try I Spy with the parrot or monkey; see how many times one can say Swab the poop deck without giggling; fashion a Cat’s Cradle with a length of string; and sing a jaunty pirate tune to pass the hours.

Five-Disc DVD/Blu-ray/3D Blu-ray bonus features include: 3D promo trailers for John Carter and Cars 2, 2D trailers for The Muppets and Phineas and Ferb; an audio commentary by Director Rob Marshall and Producer John DeLuca; Bloopers of the Caribbean gag reel; Five Lego animated shorts; Legends of On Stranger Tides featurette; In Search of the Fountain featurette; Last Sail, First Voyage featurette; Under the Sea: Bringing Mermaids to Life featurette; Johnny Vs. Geoffrey face off; Deleted and bonus scenes; Digital copy.
