Jonathan Rhys Meyers may be the first person cast in the highly anticipated STAR WARS: EPISODE VII!
Though nothing is yet confirmed, there are rumours circulating that Rhys Meyers is in discussion to star in the follow up to the extremely successful saga. STAR TREK director, J. J. Abrams has already been signed on to direct EPISODE VII and the stars of the original trilogy have also been confirmed for the new sequel.
Details about the role Rhys Meyers may be taking on is, of course, being kept a secret and details about the film itself are scarce as Abrams is currently busy promoting his latest release, STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS.
If Rhys Meyers is signed on, it would make it the second time he has worked with Abrams, the first being in 2006’s MISSION IMPOSSIBLE III.
A favourite of fans and critics alike since his breakthrough role in BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM, Rhys Meyers has since added a number of critically acclaimed Hollywood and independent movies to his resume. He has also made a name for himself on the small screen by playing the legendary King Henry VIII on THE TUDORS.
