Today’s youth is budding with strong minds, talent and determination, which is rightfully reflected inTIME MAGAZINE’s 2013 list of most influential teens. The list, which includes 16 teens aged 14 to 19 includes authors, activists, pop stars and athletes. This year’s list of big names include people we’ve definitely seen in headlines this year, such as: Malala YousafziandJustin Bieber!

1. Lorde, 17
Lorde is making her debut into the pop scene, and she’s here to stay! Week after week, this 17-year-old from New Zealand has been gracing the charts with her debut album, ‘Pure Heroine’ that includes her hit single, “Royals.” We can’t wait to see this talented writer-singer grow even more!
7. Malala Yousafzi, 16
Malala Yousafzi’s incredible story inspired the world. In 2012, the Pakistani girl was shot by the Taliban for advocating girls’ education. The 16-year-old has now recovered and continues to be vocal, grabbing all of the world’s attention towards her cause.
12. Justin Bieber, 19
Bieber made TIME’s list because of his strong brand as one of the world’s most famous pop stars. This soon-to-be 20-year-old is definitely one of the most influential people on earth, whether it’s his drama, music or altruism, Bieber is always making headlines around the globe.
14. Chloe Grace Moretz, 16
At just 16 years of age, Moretz is tearing up Hollywood. With roles in KICK ASS, DIARY OF A WIMPY KID and HUGO, she has proven herself to be a versatile and talented young actress. Most recently, she plays the lead role in the movie CARRIE and is working on numerous other projects, too!
