Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2013 served up a night full of slime, bold fashion, and happy chaos as fans watched their favorites grab orange blimps. The ceremony aired on Sunday, March 24, and viewers across the United States and Canada joined in the fun, celebrating film, music, and celebrity moments that defined the year.
Kristen Stewart earned two top honors for Snow White and the Huntsman, taking home Favorite Movie Actress and Favorite Female Buttkicker. When she claimed the blimps, a friendly hug with the presenters, Sandra Bullock and Neil Patrick Harris, sparked a playful slime shower that coated her shoulders.
One Direction could not attend the event because of a Birmingham, England, concert, yet the group still earned two awards: Favorite Music Group and Favorite Song for What Makes You Beautiful, proving their global appeal remains undiminished by a distance.
Rapper Pitbull was the first to get slimed as Christina Aguilera kicked off the show with a high-energy performance, and host Josh Duhamel kept the crowd entertained. In the opening number, Duhamel even wore the same dress as his wife, Fergie.
In addition to the big wins, Justin Bieber claimed Favorite Male Singer and Katy Perry topped the Female Singer category, underscoring a year of strong music from both established stars and rising talents.
Fans voted from February 14 to March 23 across 22 categories, delivering a staggering total of 387 million votes and showing how engaged kids can be with pop culture choices.
The host Josh Duhamel kept the energy high, mixing humor with occasional silliness that defined the vibe of the 2013 edition.
