It’s a big day for comic-movie fans! First, the new trailer for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, now we learn that actor Mark Ruffalo has signed on to play THE HULK for six more films.

We can attest to Ruffalo doing an amazing job portraying Bruce Banner in THE AVENGERS film, out this Friday (review up soon!). He confirmed the movie deal with Marvel Studios in an interview earlier today.

“The experience was great,” he said about working on THE AVENGERS, “I really had a good time. It was fun, and I love that group of people.” News had been swirling about The Hulk getting a solo movie, but nothing had been confirmed until now. We still don’t know the context of the films (how many will be solo vs. how many will be with the rest of the Avengers,) but that news will be announced when the time comes!

Of course, we can’t forget about those two previous HULK films: the 2008 one starring Edward Norton and the 2003 one starring Eric Bana. Neither were particularly awesome (at least, not on THE AVENGERS level of awesome), so we’re pretty keen on Ruffalo making the role his own.

He’s not the only Marvel hero whose been signed on to multiple films, as we can expect to see more Thor, Captain America, Iron Man and Black Widow post AVENGERS!
