There has been a lot of talk about a MEAN GIRLS sequel, but now it seems that something has finally been confirmed, but it’s not what we expected at all!
New Line Cinema has announced its plans to adaptRosalind Wiseman’s book, QUEEN BEE MOMS AND KING PIN DADS, into a feature film called MEAN MOMS. Wiseman is also the author of QUEEN BEES AND WANNABEES on which the cult favourite, MEAN GIRLS, is based.
Though MEAN MOMS will not be a direct sequel to MEAN GIRLS since it won’t be inviting back any of the original cast, it will have a similar storyline. MEAN MOMS will follow a regular family who moves to a new suburb, but instead of focusing on the kids’ attempt to fit in, the emphasis will be on the mother’s struggle.
Sadly, the hilarious Tina Fey, who wrote the screenplay for MEAN GIRLS, won’t be penning MEAN MOMS, but perhaps the new writer will manage to make this into a classic anyway!
