Remember THE JETSONS? They were the space-age family that contrasted (and somehow also complimented) THE FLINTSTONES during their time on TV. Airing between 1962–63 and again in 1985–87, they taught us everything we needed to know about the not-so-distant future… particularly that the name “Elroy” was acceptable as a young boy’s name.
Today, THE JETSONS: SEASON 2, VOLUME 2 is finally available! We say “finally” because the last time THE JETSONS made it to DVD was in 2009… about the same time that director Robert Rodriguez (SPY KIDS Series) had been announcing that he’d be making a live-action version of the film. But, no one’s really heard anything about the films happening… maybe this release means it’s on its way? Maybe…
Anyways, SEASON 2, VOLUME 2 continues the futuristic life of George Jetson and his family as they live there average, everyday life in the year 2062. Fun fact: if you’re 12 years old now, you could live to see the year 2062 when you’re 75 years old. Start watching this show for accuracy!
SEASON 2: VOLUME 2 highlights include:
– George accidentally re-programming Rosey the robot into stealing everything
– The spoofing of FANTASY ISLAND, calling it “Fantasy Planet”
– The spoofing of both ALICE IN WONDERLAND and THE WIZARD OF OZ in a single episode
– Jane being able to read the future with her new glasses
– The “Jetson Christmas Carol”, starring the grumpy boss Spacely as Scrooge
– The theme song:
