There is tons of mystery surrounding the villain in the upcoming STAR TREK sequel, INTO DARKNESS. We have only known that Benedict Cumberbacth (SHERLOCK) has been cast in this role, but nothing more.
Some speculators have claimed that Cumberbatch will play famed STAR TREK villain, Khan Noonien Singh. Recently, Cumberbatch set the record straight himself by divulging some much needed details regarding his character.
He firstly slaps down the idea that he is playing a younger version of Khan and says that his character is named John Harrison and is a terrorist of sorts who pits Spock and Kirk against each other.
Cumberbatch goes on to say that John Harrison is multi-dimensional and that he’s “got an extraordinary purpose” and that the audience may even sympathize with his actions.
Sounds like a complicated guy! We can’t wait to see him in action when STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS hits theatres on May 17, 2013!
