Filming of THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE is in full swing in Maui, Hawaii! The second movie of the trilogy comes out in less than a year and we’re exciting to see Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth in action once again. Yesterday, the cast put on some wetsuit-like costumes and hit the beach to film some scenes of the Quarter Quell.
CATCHING FIRE follows Katniss and Peeta on their victory tour of Panem and their next challenge: the 75th annual Hunger Gamesl If you’ve read the series by Suzanne Collins, you may recognize the part the cast appears to be filming. We see some new characters, including Mags and Finnick, plus Katniss’ trademark side braid and bow and arrow set.
In a recent interview, Josh Hutcherson, who plays Peeta Mellark, revealed that the next film will feature scenes filmed exclusively for IMAX.
“They’re shooting, I think, all the stuff in the arena is going to be IMAX,” Hutcherson told MTV. “So when you go see it in IMAX, you’ll see the regular movie when we’re in the Districts and in the Capitol. When you see us go up in the pod in the games, it will open up into IMAX. It will be amazing. It’s very cool.”
Are you excited to watch THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE when it hits theatres on November 22, 2013?
