Hot off the heels of releasing THE MUPPETS on DVD/Blu-ray, The Mag got the chance to chat with the infamous star himself, Kermit the Frog!
Here’s what Kermit told us about his recent film experience!!!! (Yes, all of these exclamation points ARE necessary.)
How was it getting back together with the gang for the movie, THE MUPPETS?
It was fantastic! We always have so much fun together…with Fozzie’s jokes, Gonzo’s wild stunts, Animal’s antics and, of course, Miss Piggy being Miss Piggy. We’ve done a lot of TV and things for the internet over the past several years, but it’s wonderful to be back together on the big screen again.
Did you have any worries about shooting the film?
Not at all. We had a great script by Jason Segel (our co-star!) and Nick Stoller and an incredibly talented director, James Bobin. Plus, we were able to cast the beautiful and talented Amy Adams, so we knew everything was going to go smoothly…at least until Miss Piggy and the gang showed up. But even then, it worked.

We’re a bit obsessed with OK Go at the moment, what was it like shooting a music video with them?
The guys in OK Go are crazy, out-of-control and totally over-the-top, so they fit in perfect with the Muppets. They’re not only swell musicians who write cool songs, but their videos are the most creative and inventive ones out there, so we were honored to share the screen with them.
Who are some of your other favourite musicians right now?
I’m listening a lot to “The Green Album” which features various artists doing cover versions of songs that the Muppets made famous. All these artists are on my must- listen playlist, including Weezer, Alkaline Trio, My Morning Jacket and, of course, OK Go!
Do you find it’s getting any easier being green?
Yes, it is. So many people are going green these days. It’s easier for me—and all the other species out there.

What’s next for you and Miss Piggy?
You’d have to ask her that. I just try to stay out of her way. Career-wise, though, I know we’re talking about making another movie. We’ve even started on the script. Well, actually, so far all we’ve done is buy a new pen to write it with … but hey, you’ve got to start somewhere.
After the film, who got possession of the ’80s robot?
Possession? Oh no one “owns” The ’80s robot. He’s independent, has his own agent and publicist and everything. From what I understand, he’s reading scripts and looking for his next project, which I suspect will be a remake of a sci-fi hit from the ’80s.
