STARRING:
Clint Black, Lisa Hartman Black and Kacey Rohl
THE STORY:
The third film in the FLICKA series, FLICKA: COUNTRY PRIDE is about Kelly, a girl still struggling with the loss of her dad, and her mom, Lindy, who fights to keep their family’s stable. Toby comes along as the new stable manager with a mustang named Flicka and, of course, they change everything.
THE BOTTOM LINE:
Those familiar with the movies will know to expect a family friendly message and a lot of horse action and that’s exactly what you get here. Though slow to start, the movie comes together nicely towards the end. Director Michael Damian also does British Columbia justice, as the film was shot in Kelowna (we were on set!) and offers beautiful scenery for the story. Giving true heart to the drama are Kacey Rohl and Lisa Hartman Black, who play off each other nicely as daughter and mother, and Clint Black, who charms in his role as Toby. With a strong cast and a heartwarming story, FLICKA: COUNTRY PRIDE is out now on Blu-ray/DVD and is worth watching for horse lovers.
