Never fear, the film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s THE HOST is almost here! Ever since the release of the science fiction novel (sprinkled with some romance, of course!), fans have been wondering when THE HOST would follow in TWILIGHT’s footsteps and hit the big screen already! Well, that wish has now come true and the cast has been announced! Here’s what we know so far:
Saoirse Ronan will play Melanie Stryder, a brave young girl who lives in a world where parasitic alien souls must enter human bodies to survive. The soul, named Wanderer, takes interest in inhabiting Melanie’s body and the two form a strange bond as Wanderer begins to develop human emotions. Together, the two set out on a journey to help the remaining free humans, including her love interest, Jared Howe (Max Irons). Diane Kruger will also be featured as the Seeker, the soul responsible for tracking down Melanie’s family.
The newly released poster showcases the dashing Max Irons staring mysteriously off into the distance. The talented actor and son of award-winning Jeremy Irons looks like he’s ready to play Jared along with such an amazing cast! Those of you who have seen Max in Catherine Hardwicke’s dark adaptation of RED RIDING HOOD will know that there’s no doubt he has inherited a good set of acting chops from his father!
So, are you pumped up for THE HOST’s big debut? Be sure to check it out when it hits the big screen on March 29th!
