This week on THE NEXT STEP, some of the dancers band together to overthrow Emily as dance captain with a new routine before regionals. In the aftermath of last week’s drama between Chloe and Emily, Kate forces Emily to apologize if she wants to continue to be dance captain.
All the other dancers are surprised to see Emily apologize to Chloe, but Emily secretly admits she is not sincere and only did it to keep her spot as dance captain.
Meanwhile, in Studio B, Michelle is determined to become the new captain and choreographs a new routine with Riley and James. Emily tries to get some information about what the three of them are up to and turns to Eldon to get some of the juicy details.
Luckily, their secret is safe… for now.
The dancers weigh in on Emily’s choreography and everyone seems to have mixed feelings. While the E Girls stand by Emily, Wes and Daniel agree that it’s not fresh. One thing’s for sure: Emily always choreographs to showcase herself.
As soon as the rehearsal in Studio A is over, Riley, James and Michelle go back to Studio B. When Wes walks in on them rehearsing, the other dancers have to show him their routine and tell him about their plan to overthrow Emily as dance captain. The dancers worry what Wes will think and to their surprise, Wes not only loves it, but also wants to join in.
Tiffany and Stephanie practice their acting skills before Stephanie’s big audition for her agent. Kate even sees Stephanie crying and thinks it’s real. When she gets a callback of approval from her agent, she officially dubs herself a double threat.
Emily and Eldon hang out and Eldon still thinks he has a chance. Emily reveals that she thinks Eldon is “a little bit cute.” Michelle sees Emily touching Eldon’s hand and feels a bit bothered by it, though she says she doesn’t know why.
Meanwhile, the dancers in studio B continue to recruit others to join the anti-Emily movement. Wes tells Daniel and Daniel joins them on the condition that he gets to keep his solo. With more and more people joining, the dancers think of who else they can recruit to their side.
In studio A, Emily continues to be rude to Chloe and immediately shuts her down when she suggests new ideas. Chloe realizes that things are never going to change. Michelle sees it as an opportunity to approach Chloe and invite her to the Studio B group. Chloe watches their routine and thinks it’s amazing, but when she hears that the routine is for regionals, she feels torn between Emily and the other dancers. Chloe gets very angry, says she’s not interested and storms out.
