Episode 17 begins with tensions and emotions running high! Emily and Michelle are butting heads at practice once again; Emily is extremely upset that she’s been placed in the last row for Regionals, since it’s a big step down from someone who used to be captain. She’s still bitter and Michelle is still mad: neither of the girls is willing to compromise or apologize yet!
The next scene shows Riley video chatting with James, since he’s still not allowed at the studio. She’s quizzing him on math questions, but he doesn’t seem to know the answers to any of them. Riley is disappointed; she promised to go on a date with him ONLY if he gets a 70% or higher on his next exam. She hopes he gets his act together!
Giselle is talking to Emily in the next scene, lamenting the fact that she is no longer on A team. They take comfort in the fact that they are both in places they don’t want to be regarding the dance team. Michelle enters the room and takes Emily aside; she asks if Emily knows why she’s in the back row. Emily says she does – and it’s because she thinks Michelle has a crush on Eldon! This irritates Michelle and she quickly retorts that it’s simply because Emily isn’t a good enough dancer.
Meanwhile, Stephanie is anxiously awaiting her first audition for a commercial. She gets called in, recites the lines, and is asked to come back in a few minutes to meet the director. Thinking this has to be a good sign, she gets excited – only to overhear the casting director making fun of her audition and laughing about how much of a “train wreck” it was! In tears, she leaves the studio.
Back at the dance studio, Emily is alone and upset. Eldon walks in and comforts her, saying he knows for a fact that she belongs in the front row. Emily decides to finally make a move and kisses him! It’s Eldon’s first kiss, and he’s ecstatic that it was with Emily. Seems like these two lovebirds are finally getting together!
Eldon tells Michelle that he will dance in the back row if Emily gets moved to the front. Michelle quickly agrees, oddly – she’s just thankful he hasn’t found out about her secret crush on him.
The team convenes again and Michelle announces that Eldon is moving to the back and Emily to the front. Everyone is shocked and thinks it’s a terrible idea, since Eldon is one of the best dancers on the team. Then, Riley comes bursting into the room…and announces that Emily AND Stephanie are leaving the team for good!
