After the unsettling final moment of episode 23, we couldn’t help but hope for some serious closure to all the drama surrounding Emily’s return to The Next Step.
Last week’s episode began with great news for Michelle; Emily has decided to accept her offer to be co-captain! Eldon is very uncomfortable with this news. He’s dating Emily but he likes Michelle, so this complicates things! Of course, we can’t help but suspect some drama to come from this situation! Good news is the rest of the group is beginning to feel a positive change now that Michelle and Emily are co-captains.
During rehearsal, Chloe takes Michelle aside and tells her that she needs to leave (for work). Michelle covers for her even though it’s a really crucial time during the rehearsal process. Michelle tells Emily that she let Chloe leave early. Emily is confused because co-captains should be making decisions together, so she takes Michelle aside to try to get to the bottom of Chloe’s disappearances. But it’s not Michelle’s place to reveal the truth, so she tells Emily that she will show her, all while making sure that Emily will not tell a soul! After rehearsal, Michelle and Emily bus to Chloe’s workplace. Emily finally understands and is extremely empathetic.
The next day during rehearsal, Kate asks Chloe into her office to find out where the rest of her money for regionals is. Chloe finally decides to tell Kate the truth: that she hasn’t earned enough money from work. Kate is shocked! Chloe makes the final decision to leave A-troupe until she can fully afford it. She promises to be back next year.
Oh no! Poor Chloe. What is A-troupe going to do without her?
When Chloe runs out of rehearsal, Emily and Michelle reveal to the rest of the dancers that Chloe has been having money troubles. The group is shocked and saddened by the news. They wish Chloe would have just told them. Luckily, Emily has a plan to fix this mess!
Later that day, Emily goes back to Chloe’s workplace… to order food! After she orders water with a lemon and Chloe disappears into the back to go get it, the rest of A-troupe arrives. Chloe is utterly confused! The rest of the dancers start ordering drinks very obnoxiously. She feels bullied. Are the dancers doing this to try to get back at her? The real plan begins to take shape when Wes leaves giving Chloe a $50 tip! Chloe is now more confused than ever! The rest of the dancers start leaving extra large tips as well and Chloe finally understands, they all came to her work to give her money for regionals! She feels so loved and a part of a real family.
The next day, Chloe returns to The Next Step to give the rest of her money to Kate, thanks to the help of her fellow dancers!
We’re so happy that Chloe is back in A-troupe! What a heart-warming episode!
