In the last episode of THE NEXT STEP, we saw Emily finally agree to be Eldon’s duet partner. This week, Eldon realizes that he is in a bind when he double books himself for duets with both Emily and Michelle.
To further complicate things, Chloe also asks Eldon to be her partner! While Eldon is feeling popular, he also doesn’t want to upset anyone. Instead, he tries to balance practicing with both Michelle and Emily. As he makes excuses while darting between partners, he ends up feeling totally overwhelmed. Both girls start to get really annoyed with Eldon’s shady ways. Eventually, he must confess his double duet situation.
Everyone, including Eldon, expects Michelle to be the one to fold. When she stands her ground and refuses to give up Eldon as a partner, the other dancers view it as a sign: Michelle is strong enough to be the new dance captain.
As Emily and Michelle fight over who gets to be with Eldon, Emily reminds Michelle of her standing. “Rule number 34, an E girl always gets what she wants,” she says.
Stephanie pulls the typical E girl act on West and bosses him around during rehearsal. West and Stephanie decide to compromise: she can be a bit bossy as long as he gets to do a flip in the routine. Stephanie also goes to Kate to get advice on how to become a triple threat.
When it comes time to perform the duets, the ball is Eldon’s court to pick the partner he will perform with. All the other dancers are wondering if he will choose Michelle or Emily. To everyone’s surprise, he picks Chloe!
It’s a smart move because Eldon ends up dodging two bullets by not choosing a side.
After all the other dancers perform, Michelle and Emily are the only dancers left and are forced to freestyle a duet together. They pull out their best moves, but Kate says she is disappointed in both of them. If they don’t get their act together, the A-troupe won’t make regionals.
Will Michelle and Emily be able to put their differences aside for the sake of the troupe? Who do you think would make the better captain?
