Tomorrow, one of this year’s most anticipated sequels will be hitting theatres. That’s right: BREAKING DAWN – PART ONE, the fourth movie in THE TWILIGHT SAGA based on the series by Stephenie Meyer, will meet high expectations come November. Can’t wait until then? We’ve got you covered with all the essential details about the movie!
FROM SCRIPT TO SCREEN
Even before filming began, the adaptation of BREAKING DAWN from the novel wasn’t exactly a smooth process. The book had quite a few graphic scenes in it, and there was the question of if it would be split into two movies. That question later turned into where PART 1 would end and where PART 2 would begin. While we can’t confirm how the book is split between the two movies, we can say that its PG-13 rating will help PART 1 stay true to the story without getting too gory.
HERE COMES THE BRIDE
For fans of the book, this movie features some of the most eagerly awaited scenes from the series, including Edward and Bella’s wedding and the couple’s honeymoon. In fact, the wedding was one of the last scenes the actors shot, with the set and details kept tightly under wraps. Bella’s wedding dress was especially guarded: Kristen Stewart had to wear a Volturi cloak over the dress before shooting!
RAIN OR SHINE
Prying eyes weren’t the only things that made filming challenging. The weather proved to be difficult during the wedding scene, with “very cold” and “very wet” conditions, as Kellan Lutz who plays Emmet put it in a recent interview. Peter Facinelli, a.k.a. Carlisle Cullen, also said, “It’s funny, because whenever we have a big important scene on ‘Twilight’ [movies], it rains. I was doing the baseball sequence [from ‘Twilight’], and it was raining.”
