It’s Valentine’s Day and love is in the air! Here are some great movies that you can watch with your family, a loved one, or even by yourself. Grab a box of chocolates and enjoy these films!

10. SHREK It might seem a little odd that a movie about ogres is on this list, but it deserves to be here. Shrek, an angry ogre, is on a mission to save a princess to get his swamp cleared. But things change when the princess also turns out to be an ogre by night because of a curse. Princess Fiona must kiss her true love in order to break the curse so she can take her true form. The story of Shrek and Fiona blooms slowly but surely and leaves us on our feet with the fun musical number at the end.

9. TWILIGHT What could be more romantic than a mysterious vampire? Bella Swan moves to Forks, Washington to live with her dad and quickly makes new friends at her new school. She sits next to Edward Cullen in biology, who she becomes intrigued by. They begin spending time with each other and Bella learns that Edward is a vampire. Edward and his family try to keep Bella safe from three nomadic vampires who are out to get her. They manage to get rid of them. The successful film had two sequels and is a love story that will not be forgotten anytime soon.

8. HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL Basketball star Troy Bolton and science nerd Gabriella Montez randomly meet by singing karaoke together on New Years Eve. Weeks later, Gabriella transfers to Troy’s school. They pick up where they left off, but the pressure of their separate worlds makes it hard for them to be together. HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL leaves us rooting for Troy and Gabriella, all while singing and dancing along to the movie’s musical numbers.

7. TANGLED The classic Rapunzel story gets a new twist in this Disney movie. Rapunzel’s hair has healing powers and Gothel, who raised her as her own, locks her up in a tower. Flynn Rider breaks into the tower one day, and agrees to help Rapunzel find the lanterns that light up the sky every year on her birthday. Their adventure brings them close together and they eventually fall in love. What was supposed to be a complicated mission turns out to be a great love story!

6. WALL-E After the world goes to waste, a robot named WALL-E is designed to clean up what’s left. By collecting old belongings of humans, WALL-E watches an old movie that teaches him about love. Another robot named EVE comes to Earth, and they quickly become fond of each other. WALL-E follows EVE on the spaceship she came from and goes into outer space. Together they try to stop evil robots from brainwashing the humans. Through their companionship and love story, WALL-E and EVE prove that robots can have feelings too.

5. PRETTY IN PINK Andie is a working class girl who works at a record store and lives with her unemployed father. Her best friend Duckie is in love with her. She has a crush on Blane, one of the rich boys at school, but his friends make fun of her. Blane asks Andie out, but when they try to date, their different social worlds force them apart. When prom comes along, Andie decides to go by alone. With Duckie’s permission, she later goes after Blane. This John Hughes classic from the ’80s is a perfect movie to watch on Valentine’s Day.

4. THE LITTLE MERMAID Ariel the mermaid makes a bad mistake by betraying her father Triton, the Sea King, so that she can become human to see the man that she has admired from sneaking up to the surface. The one catch – she gives up her voice. Ariel has three days to make Eric fall in love with her or else she’ll return to being a mermaid. The adventures of Ariel and her friend Sebastian (the sea crab) to beat the clock make us smile and laugh as we fall in love with this timeless story.

3. BE MY VALENTINE, CHARLIE BROWN This one is for those who have never had a Valentine. Charlie Brown comes to school excited with a briefcase, hoping he’ll get a lot of valentines. However, when he doesn’t receive a single one, he becomes sad and frustrated. The next day, he gets a used valentine from one of the girls and sees it as hope that he will get more next year. This movie teaches that not getting a Valentine in time is not the end of the world. Thanks, Charlie Brown!

2. BEAUTY AND THE BEAST This Disney classic teaches us that you can’t judge a book by its cover. The Beast imprisons Belle instead of her sick father. With the help of the enchanted utensils and furniture in Beast’s castle, Belle begins to enjoy her stay and she and the Beast fall in love. Their love perseveres through the hardships of the misunderstandings of the outside world of the Beast. Their unexpected love story is sure to warm hearts of all ages this Valentine’s Day!

1. A CINDERELLA STORY Sam is a waiter at her father’s old restaurant after he passes away, trying to save money so that she can go to her dream university. She has an online pen pal, who turns out to be the popular high school quarterback. When they finally meet, their worlds keep them apart but they manage to find each other. This movie takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions but gives the classic happy ending that we all love!
